How to Apply for an Internship through IAESTE Albania

Three application stages: registration, nomination & interview, and success.

Fees, visa notes and what IAESTE Albania covers at each step.

To apply for an internship through IAESTE Albania, the student must go through three application stages.

First Stage – Registration on the IAESTE Exchange Platform

The first stage is registration on the IAESTE Exchange platform. At this stage, the student creates a personal account, accesses the platform and completes all the required information in the profile. Once the profile has been fully completed, the student contacts IAESTE Albania and requests account verification.

Account verification is carried out manually by IAESTE Albania and has a fee of 3,000 ALL. This fee is paid only once and covers the profile verification and activation process. After verification, the student is considered active in the system and is able to explore different internship offers, view host company profiles and apply at any time for opportunities that match their academic and professional profile.

Second Stage – Nomination and Interview

The second stage is the nomination and interview stage. This stage begins after the student has selected the internship for which they wish to apply. Each offer has specific criteria, which are determined solely by the host company and may relate to the field of study, academic year, technical skills, foreign languages or previous experience.

The nomination process has a fee of 5,000 ALL. This fee is non-refundable and is paid for each internship for which the student applies. Therefore, for every new application, the nomination fee must be paid again.

This fee covers the preparation and official submission of the nomination, document checking, assistance with the content of the application and ongoing communication with the IAESTE organisation in the country that published the offer. IAESTE Albania supports the student throughout this process and ensures that the documentation is complete and in accordance with the internship requirements.

After the nomination is submitted, the company reviews the student’s profile and documents. If the application is considered suitable, the student proceeds to the interview stage. The type, format and content of the interview are determined solely by the host company.

IAESTE Albania does not influence the final selection decision. Its role is to ensure that the application is complete and to assist the student throughout the procedure. The decision to accept or reject the candidate is made exclusively by the company. In the event of rejection, the company may also provide the reason for its decision.

Third Stage – Success

The third stage is the success stage and applies only if the student is selected and secures the internship. At this point, a success fee of 50,000 ALL or 503 euros applies.

This fee is paid to IAESTE Albania for the support and assistance provided throughout the entire process, from registration and nomination to communication with international partners and the finalisation of procedures. The fee is paid only after the student has been officially accepted for the internship.

Visa

If the student requires a visa, the visa application is submitted by the student. Visa costs and any services provided by external agencies are additional costs and are not included in IAESTE Albania fees. IAESTE Albania does not apply for a visa on behalf of the student, but provides assistance during the procedure, guidance regarding documentation and, when necessary, provides the contact details of partner agencies.

If, for reasons beyond the control of IAESTE Albania, the student is not granted a visa, they have the right to reapply for the visa or withdraw from the internship. If the student decides to withdraw due to visa refusal, IAESTE Albania refunds the amount of 25,000 ALL or 253 euros.

This is the only refundable fee throughout the entire application process.
