New Erasmus+ Project: Fostering Active Youth Participation in Environmental Advocacy

We are excited to announce the launch of our new Erasmus+ project, “Fostering Active Youth Participation in Environmental Advocacy”, reference number 2025-1-BG01-KA154-YOU-000305144. The project officially begins on September 1, 2025, and will run until August 31, 2026, bringing together young people from Bulgaria, Albania, and Germany to take action towards a greener and more sustainable future.

Who are we?

The project is coordinated by Association FOR YOU in Bulgaria, in partnership with Aiforia – ecoculture e.V. in Germany and StarBalkans in Albania. Together, we aim to empower young people to take a leading role in addressing local environmental challenges.

What do we aim to achieve?

Throughout the year, young participants will take part in:

Local workshops (November–December 2025) in each country, where they will learn about recycling, meet with municipalities, and visit eco-friendly businesses and NGOs to gain first-hand experience.
A mobility in Tirana, Albania (January 26–30, 2026), focusing on youth-led action and campaigns related to recycling and waste management.
Youth-led campaigns in April 2026 in Varna, Tirana, and Freiburg.
A mobility in Varna, Bulgaria (April 29–May 3, 2026), focusing on youth-led public awareness activities.
A final event in July 2026 in each country, engaging local communities and further raising awareness of environmental issues.

Who can participate?

The project will involve 24 young people aged 18–30. No previous experience or English-language knowledge is required – participants simply need to be motivated and passionate about protecting the environment.

Expected results

By the end of the project, participants will have developed valuable skills, greater confidence, and practical experience in environmental activities. They will create and implement their own campaigns during public events, supported by training sessions and international exchanges.

Through these activities, young people will produce videos and interviews documenting their achievements, ensuring that their voices and perspectives reach a wider audience.

Most importantly, the project will create a sustainable network of young people from different countries, giving them the opportunity to continue collaborating beyond the lifetime of the project.

In addition to personal development, the project will strengthen the capacity of participating organizations, increase public awareness of environmental issues, and foster closer cooperation among young people, NGOs, businesses, and local authorities.

Why does it matter?

This project is not only about learning – it is about taking action.

By creating spaces for dialogue and cooperation among young people, NGOs, businesses, and local institutions, we aim to increase awareness of the European Green Deal, the Waste Framework Directive, and the broader efforts of the European Union to make Europe more sustainable.
