New Erasmus+ Project: Fostering Active Youth Participation in Environmental Advocacy
We are excited to announce the launch of our new Erasmus+ project, “Fostering Active Youth Participation in Environmental Advocacy”, project number 2025-1-BG01-KA154-YOU-000305144.
The project officially started on 1 September 2025 and will run until 31 August 2026, bringing together young people from Bulgaria, Albania and Germany to take meaningful steps towards a greener and more sustainable future.
Who Are We?
The project is coordinated by Association FOR YOU in Bulgaria, in partnership with Aiforia – ecoculture e.V. in Germany and StarBalkans in Albania.
Together, we aim to empower young people to take a leading role in addressing local environmental challenges and contributing to sustainable solutions in their communities.
What Do We Aim to Achieve?
Throughout the year, young people will take part in a series of activities:
- Local workshops – November–December 2025
- Workshops will take place in each participating country, where young people will learn about recycling, meet with municipalities and visit eco-friendly businesses and NGOs to gain practical insights into environmental action.
- Study visit in Tirana, Albania – 26–30 January 2026
- Participants will take part in activities focusing on the role of young people in recycling and waste management.
- Youth-led campaigns – April 2026
- Young people will organise campaigns in Varna, Tirana and Freiburg, putting their knowledge and ideas into practice.
- Study visit in Varna, Bulgaria – 29 April–3 May 2026
- The programme will focus on youth-led public awareness activities and provide participants with opportunities to exchange experiences and develop practical ideas.
- Final local events – July 2026
- Each participating country will organise a final event aimed at engaging local communities and further raising awareness of environmental issues.
Who Can Take Part?
The project will involve 24 young people aged 18–30.
No previous experience or English language knowledge is required. What matters most is motivation, curiosity and a genuine interest in protecting the environment.
Expected Results
By the end of the project, participants will have developed valuable skills, greater confidence and practical experience in environmental activities.
They will create and implement their own campaigns at public events, supported by training sessions and international exchanges.
Through these activities, young people will also produce videos and interviews documenting their experiences and achievements, helping ensure that their voices and perspectives reach a wider audience.
Most importantly, the project will contribute to the creation of a lasting international youth network, giving participants opportunities to continue collaborating beyond the official duration of the project.
In addition to personal development, the project will strengthen the capacity of the participating organisations, increase public awareness of environmental issues and encourage closer cooperation between young people, NGOs, businesses and local authorities.
Why Does It Matter?
This project is not only about learning — it is about taking action.
By creating spaces for dialogue and cooperation between young people, NGOs, businesses and local institutions, we aim to increase awareness of the European Green Deal, the Waste Framework Directive, and broader European Union efforts to make Europe more sustainable.
We believe that young people should not only be informed about environmental challenges, but also have the opportunity to participate, advocate and contribute to solutions.
